Grammys has never been these strange!
This has been the weirdest Grammys of all times in my journaling career. I guess that’s what happens when the usual suspects decided to make a switch from their sexy character gowns to sophisticated gowns. Huh?
Grammy performances by Camilla Cabello, Dolly Parton and the host Alicia Keys were nothing short of amazing, but the no-shows from Beyonce and Ariana Grande were telling, and set us up for one of the not so stylish Grammys yet! Still, there were a few outfits that got us going!
We all know this soft-spoken fierce-performing artist has gone wild with her carpet looks once even spotting a gown made from raw meat but who knew she can be normal? She stunned-opting for a silver feminine Celine floor-length gown, with side ruffles down to the thigh-length slit, topped off with diamonds from Tiffany & Co. on her neck and Jimmy Choo metallic heels.
We were totally fine with the more is less when it comes to Kylie. But her Grammy choice wasn’t one of her best looks. Kylie wore a Balmain pink sculptured jumpsuit that extended down to gloves and barely showed skin! Topping off her ensemble, Kylie secured her jumpsuit with a white belt. The ‘PDA’ moment with boyfriend Travis Scott was just as awkward as her look
Well, JLo has been a carpet sweetheart all through, rocking very feminine romantic and sexy gowns on the red carpet. This Grammy could have been yet another no-miss moment for the star, but her wide brimmed hat was a no-no. After going on a no sugar diet for days before the Grammy, JLo looked great in a bejeweled white off-the-runway Ralph Rusco gown and Jimmy Choo metallic ‘max’ platforms sandals. Pity she didn’t give face, face, face with that hat all over the place!
Apart from winning her first Grammy for Best Rap Album, Cardi B was on another level. The ‘Money’ artist chose the exclusive vintage gown from couture designer Thierry Mugler that has only been worn twice on the carpet over the last 25 years! For the red carpet, she chose a 24-year-old wearable art gown that resembled a pearl from an open oyster. Next to her on the red carpet was her royal prince Off Set. “Ten different looks and all my looks kill,” Kulture’s mum said wearing Mugler all night. Grand!
No stranger to red carpet controversy, all eyes were on Joy! She decided once again on a pro-Trump statement metallic dress that looked very much like aluminum foil and matching chunky jewellery with a collar that had barbed-wire appliques on her shoulders. She also wore a mock replica of The Statue of Liberty crown made of metallic spikes.
The singer never seems to get tired of her outspoken notoriety on the red carpet and makes political statements with her gowns. What next for 2020, Joy?
