Great looking nails are not just a preserve of the beauty salon, it’s possible to sport an immaculate set of nails without weekly nail sessions. No matter which way you choose to wear your nails, establish a routine that will ensure you nail it every time! Let’s begin with the easiest routine to maintain. Keeping nails clean. Thick lashes, long lashes, bold lashes, gimme dem lashes! We want them all! But how to get them without using fake lashes is the question. Apparently an insider beauty trick to lush lashes is waterproof mascara, which not only lasts for all eternity, it also gives your lashes that extra burst of life! It, however, may be challenging when one wants to take it off and nothing seems to work. Common oils such as coconut oil, almond oil or castor oil can be used as they are readily available in most supermarkets and beauty shops. Secret tip: Castor oil is recommended for…

You’re Not Overweight, You’re Stressed! Did you know that stress is the silent cause of rapid weight gain in most people?  It’s a complex dynamic, which is evidenced by the need to eat huge amounts of food and the less likelihood of engaging in activities in some people. It is commonly referred to as ‘stress eating.’ In the event of life triggers- for instance death, relationship drama or financial pressure, some people seek solace in food. Lots and lots of mindless munching of comfort food- usually, junk food. Knowing that so many suffer from stress-eating, how can one overcome it? First things first, you have to let go of things that are beyond your control. Carrying burdens in your heart and mind that at that point can’t be changed is doing yourself more harm than good. Have a positive mindset, accept things as they are, be at peace with yourself…

And we’re well into 2019!  I’ll be honest and confess, that January was tough trying to get back to regular work, fitness and life routines. After what I happily dubbed ‘the champagne days of Christmas’, January was a month of penitence and atonement. The roughest time was going back to the gym and simply not being able to do what I easily handled at the start of December! But the physical discomfort of settling into a routine, is nothing compared to the emotional and psychological adjustment to new habits and new patterns. Our internal wiring is really something special. Creating new pathways in the brain, is the best way to override existing ones, because as science would have us believe, letting go of what was and embracing what’s new is much harder than it seems. This could explain why, despite every good intention, resolutions are stored on dark shelves sooner…

Grammys has never been these strange! This has been the weirdest Grammys of all times in my journaling career. I guess that’s what happens when the usual suspects decided to make a switch from their sexy character gowns to sophisticated gowns. Huh? Still, there were a few outfits that got us going! SUSPECTS: LADY GAGA We all know this soft-spoken fierce-performing artist has gone wild with her carpet looks once even spotting a gown made from raw meat but who knew she can be normal? She stunned-opting for a silver feminine Celine floor-length gown, with side ruffles down to the thigh-length slit, topped off with diamonds from Tiffany & Co.…
